ORIGIN
Where the name comes from
From the place name "Tsurumi"
and the crane ("tsuru") — a quintessentially Japanese symbol.
We named the brand "Tsuru no ya" — drawing from Tsurumi, where we opened our very first property, and from the "tsuru" (crane), a symbol of Japan and of good fortune. The name carries our wish to be rooted in the local community and to offer guests the quiet comfort of Japan.

Representative Director
Born and raised in Hiroshima. Throughout his career in video production, he has worked in the business of "conveying ideas."
As tourism from overseas grew, he was reminded of the appeal of his own Japan — and of Yokohama in particular — and wanted to share it with more people. That impulse became the starting point of this vacation rental business.
In May 2026, he incorporated the business as Tsuru no ya Inc., and currently operates three properties across the Yokohama area (Tsurumi & Hiyoshi).

We aren't aiming to be a luxury ryokan offering excessive hospitality. For our guests, the most important part of a trip is the memory they take home with them.
We believe our role is to be the calm, comfortable backdrop to those memories — nothing more, nothing less. We listen carefully, communicate warmly, and do our part to make your stay in Japan a smooth and meaningful one.
